Videmat Roll (part) |
The Videmat was a self-service
ticket machine. The passenger dropped coins into
the machine and these are displayed on one side
of the ticket (see Used
Tickets for an example) with the ticket numbering
on the reverse. These machines were installed for
a while on pay-as-you-enter buses. As the driver
did not supervise the payment, passengers paid pretty
much whatever they wanted! The city council seemed
to consider this acceptable in exchange for pushing
ahead with one-man operation. |
