Tours by Buses leaving from Civic Centre Rose Garden in front of the Municipal Offices at 10.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. Lasting approximately 1½ hours and including a visit to Sightseers' Balcony of Ocean Terminal.

The Docks Tours were operated by both Southampton City Transport and Hants & Dorset, using open-top buses. The tours were extremely popular.
 
The route was Civic Centre (Rose Gardens), Western Esplanade, Old Walls, Mayflower Memorial, Wool House Museum, God's House Tower, Old Bowling Green, Eastern Docks (No.2 Gate), Ocean Dock, Ocean Terminal (visit to the Sightseers' Balcony), No.6 (Trafalgar) Dry Dock, Queen Elizabeth 2 Terminal (Berths 38/39), No.5 (Prince of Wales) Dry Dock, Empress Dock, Continental Ferry Terminal, No.5 Gate, Town Quay, Royal Pier, Western Docks (No.8 Gate), 102 and 104 Berths (Union-Castle and Safmarine), 105/6 Berth (P&O), Cold Store, King George V Dry Dock, No.10 Gate, Civic Centre.
